Kyle Busch’s wife shares what Father’s Day was like a month after his death
Samantha Bush is celebrating her family’s victory.
Months after Kyle Busch’s unexpected death, his wife says their 11-year-old son Brexton is still following in his father’s legendary footsteps as he won his first race car competition since the tragedy.
“This is his first win since Kyle passed away,” Samantha wrote on her Instagram Story on July 18, along with a photo of Brexton standing on top of a car and basking in victory. “There were a lot of emotions to say the least.”
Brexton won the Limited Micro Sprint class event on July 17th on the dirt track at Port City Raceway in Oklahoma. And while Samantha, who shares four-year-old daughter Lennix with Kyle, is proud of her little boy’s win, she admits the achievement was bittersweet.
“I’m proud not only of the win, but of everything I’ve overcome at such a young age,” the 40-year-old added. “Beyond devastated, Kyle is not here to be a part of this and beyond grateful for all the support and wonderful people around him.”
