Highest paid athletes in 2026 revealed: Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi

These athletes earn far more than their baseline.

Forbes has released a list of the top 50 highest-paid athletes for 2026, all male, and includes six stars under the age of 25, including tennis newcomers Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, locked in a comfortable rivalry.

Alcaraz, a 23-year-old phenom from Spain who already has seven Grand Slam titles under his belt, is ranked 32nd on the list, with total earnings of $61.5 million over the past 12 months. This figure includes $22.5 million from tournament wins and $38 million from off-field revenue such as sponsorships.

Meanwhile, Sinner is currently ranked No. 1 in the world. 1 and ranks himself 50th on the list behind Alcaraz, who has won five Grand Slams. The 24-year-old earned an estimated $54.6 million last year, with on-court earnings of $22.6 million and off-court earnings of $32 million.

They are joined by other players under the age of 25 on the list, including soccer players Erling Haaland ($80 million total) and Vinicius Jr. ($60 million total) and basketball players Anthony Edwards ($69 million total) and Cade Cunningham ($58.6 million total).
