“That’s always been the feeling for me,” he added, “and I’m really happy to have met you guys.”
That said, Cohen said he tried to be “slow, careful and methodical” in introducing the children to Sobieski, 42. “He loves my kids,” Cohen explained, “and they love him, and I love him.”
As for how they started dating, Cohen and Sobieski’s love story served as a classic encounter.
“Eleven months ago, I saw him from the other side of the party,” Cohen recalled during the show. “I almost didn’t go, I dragged myself out. I’m never invited to gay parties in the Hamptons anymore. I was like, ‘You know what? Just let me go.'”
In fact, Cohen looked at Sobieski and thought, “‘I need to talk to this guy. Who is this guy?'”
And the rest is history.
“We talked all night,” he said. “I very methodically put my number into his cell phone, and he was like, ‘Wow, that’s how you do that…’ And apparently that night, I said to him twice, ‘I want to make sure this number is correct.'” And he said, ‘When I was thinking seriously about this number, I knew you were serious. ”
“I’m really happy,” he said. “I can’t believe I found this guy. I’m shocked.”
