Will Alexa Demy retire from acting after Euphoria? she says…
The harrowing saga of East Highland High School graduates has officially come to an end.
After Euphoria Season 3 came to a bloody and heartbreaking conclusion on May 31st, when Zendaya’s Rue accidentally overdosed on Percocet laced with fentanyl and died, show creator Sam Levinson confirmed that the third installment would be HBO’s last.
During an appearance on the New York Times’ PopCast, Sam said, “In terms of the story we were trying to tell, which is a story about addiction and its effects, to me it feels like it’s the end. Looking back, you know, I think the last eight years have been a very fulfilling journey in terms of this cast, this crew, and what we were able to accomplish.”
After all, as he stated, “There are thousands of things that had to go right to create something like this, and I’m very proud of the work we did and the story we told. Ultimately, it’s tragic, but it’s also true: If you were to experiment or take a drug today, there’s a very good chance that it would kill you.”
