Super Bowl 2026: Why Charlie Puth’s national anthem performance is worth watching

Charlie Puth’s rendition of the national anthem hit just the right note.

After the “We Don’t Talk Anymore” singer performed the patriotic song ahead of the 2026 Super Bowl (February 8), she revealed who inspired her soulful interpretation of the song.

“Thank you everyone for your kind words. It was an honor to sing the national anthem. I wrote an arrangement in a very specific way in honor of Whitney Houston. I hope you can hear it,” he wrote on July 8th.

Charlie, who is currently expecting his first child with wife Brooke Sansone, also thanked the talented musicians who brought his set to life.

“Thank you to the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir, Sainted Choir, Color of Noise Orchestra, Steve Hackman and Kenny G for joining us on stage,” he continued. “And thank you to Adam Blackstone for writing such a beautiful choral part. I love music so much.”

Charlie, 34, expressed his gratitude after dominating the field at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Before the New England Patriots faced off against the Seattle Seahawks, who won the Lombardi Trophy 29-13, Charlie stood at his sophisticated keyboard and began a moving rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
