Today’s Dylan Dreyer and husband Brian Fichella split after 12 years of marriage

Dylan Dreyer is navigating a new dynamic in his family.

Months after sharing that she and Brian Fichera had split, the Today meteorologist detailed how the breakup of their marriage ultimately gave them the gift of co-parenting their children Cal, 8, Ollie, 5, and Rusty, 4.

“Everyone has different reasons for separation and divorce, right?” Dylan told Jenna Bush Hager when co-hosting Today with Jenna & Friends on Nov. 5. “That’s a different story for another time and a lot of wine. But either way, we got to this place, and Brian and I have some freedom. Whatever the reason, whatever broke our marriage, we can and ideally we can repair it if we can, or we can accept that it’s broken and take this new step.”

“There was something we couldn’t solve,” she continued. “So now we’ve rebuilt our relationship that we’re no longer a couple, and I’m not going to begrudge you everything that’s broken. We’ve accepted what’s broken, and that’s why we broke up. So let’s move forward as friends from now on.”
