Hearing Shannon Hart talk about her now-husband Josh Hart almost made her sleepy.
Because when the future Knicks standout transferred to the Tony Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C. (whose alumni include Chelsea Clinton, Malia Obama and Sasha Obama), he wasn’t technically on the court.
“Everyone was like, ‘Who is this kid?'” Shannon revealed in a New York Times profile last October. “He came to class 30 minutes late, walked into the classroom, took off his backpack, leaned back, closed his eyes, and fell asleep in front of the teacher. It was like the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen.”
Still, she found herself cuddling up to the 6-foot-5 athlete.
Then, about a year after they met, the Silver Springs, Md., native decided to give the soccer player a shot by emailing him asking if he liked her or not.
Their first date luckily took place on November 11, 2011 at Fox Den, a cafe on campus.
“He was sitting there very nervous and seemed to be shaking,” she recalled. Josh joked about his on-field play so far, saying, “I was nervous because I had to cut the rest of the team.”
