India defeated Zimbabwe by seven wickets, with 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scoring India’s first half-century.

Indian prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored his first half-century for Twenty20 in a seven-wicket win against Zimbabwe in Harare.
Zimbabwe, who came into bat after losing the toss in the first of the three matches on Thursday, were only 125-7 after 20 overs, with all-rounder Wesley Madhevia, 39, top-scoring.

Led by 15-year-old prodigy Sooryavanshi, who hit an 18-ball 50 with four sixes and fours, India advanced to 126-3 with 40 balls to spare.
Sooryavanshi made his debut this month with a 4-0 T20I drubbing against England, making him the youngest cricketer to represent India. He scored 42 runs in three innings.
After his whirlwind 50-point performance in Harare, Sooryavanshi took a thick outside edge to a pass from Richard Ngaraba and was caught by Ben Curran at deep third man and out.
He departed with the tourists at 68-2. And wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan (35) and unbeaten captain Shreyas Iyer (28) ensured India ended their disastrous recent T20I performance.
The reigning T20I world champions lost another series 2-0 in Ireland before losing four in England, one for an India record 125 runs.
The victory at Harare Sports Club was a welcome relief for Iyer, ending a seven-match winless streak since taking over as captain.
“I think the players did great. I couldn’t be happier with my first win,” the captain told reporters.
“We had some bounce from a good length and some variation. I felt we had that in both innings. We’re going to play two more games here, so this performance will give everyone confidence.”
Madewele was run out after exchanging 58 runs for six wickets with Tadiwanashe Malumani (27 not out). A reckless attempt to secure a second goal led to his downfall.
