Did Caroline Muirhead testify at Sandy McKellar’s murder trial?
Defense lawyer Brian McConachie said Sandy wanted to plead guilty to dangerous driving causing death. However, the Crown refused this offer, intending to charge him with murder, but Sandy maintained his innocence.
Meanwhile, Caroline took a leave of absence from work, moved back in with her parents, and, as the document states, “began documenting everything to get a sense of her reality.”
On the day she was scheduled to testify at the trial in July 2023, she instead headed to Sandy’s mansion, determined to find Parsons’ bike, which was still missing.
At that moment, “I was insane,” she recalled. She found a tractor in a barn, drove it to a nearby lake, and thought, “If that bike is still there, I’ll look for it.”
“The shock of the cold water actually made me very emotional,” she continued. “I messed up my life, for what? For a guy who actually killed people. And that grief, that loss, that stress culminated into that psychotic end.”
She was arrested and jailed for contempt of court.
