Daniel Rosebery invites you to check out his latest collection. It may look familiar.
Ahead of the Paris Haute Couture Week show on January 26th, the Schiaparelli designer revealed that his jewelery design will be a sophisticated recreation of the gorgeous diamond stolen from the Louvre last October.
Daniel, 41, said in an interview published on January 26, “I was coming home from the office for a walk, and the jewelry had just been stolen from the Louvre.” “And I thought it would be a good idea to reimagine the stolen Louvre jewels.”
In a cinematic heist, four masked robbers stole nine pieces of jewelry worth about $102 million from the Louvre’s Apollo Museum on October 19, but it has never been recovered. From start to finish, it took the thieves seven minutes to snatch the precious necklace, tiara, and brooch. Officials confirmed that no museum staff were injured during the robbery.
Items stolen included an emerald and diamond necklace and matching earrings given by Napoleon Bonaparte to his wife Marie Louise, and a sapphire necklace made by Napoleon’s stepdaughter Hortense.
