Colin Jost is actually playing around with Scarlett Johansson.
Following the news that the Avengers star replaced Zoe Saldaña as the highest-grossing actor of all time, Colin couldn’t help but poke fun at his wife and himself with a hilarious joke on Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update.
“Zoe Saldaña, who stars in the new ‘Avatar,’ has surpassed Scarlett Johansson as the highest-grossing actress of all time,” he said on the Jan. 17 episode of SNL as a bar graph showing actresses’ earnings appeared on screen. “Now let’s see what happens if we include the box office receipts of Scarlett’s husband’s films.”
Scarlett’s earnings, which started at $15.4 billion, dropped to $15.1 billion after Colin, 43, delivered the punch line. And the comedian couldn’t help but respond to the crowd’s laughter. He added with a chuckle. “Did you fall?”
Corrin’s comments come days after it was reported that actress Emilia Perez, who has daughter Rose, 11, with ex-husband Romain Dauriac, and Weekend Update host Scarlett, who has four-year-old daughter Rose, has become Hollywood’s highest-paid actor thanks to James Cameron’s box office-busting Avatar trilogy.
