Mercedes’ George Russell won the Singapore Grand Prix ahead of Max Burstappen and Randnoris as McLaren won the Formula One Constructors Championship.

Red Bull world champion Max Verstappen and two McLarens were to fight it for other podium spots as British man Russell claimed his second victory of the season by filming a checkered flag under the lights of the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

“It’s amazing,” Russell said. “I don’t really know where this performance came from, but I’m really, really happy.

“I was really nervous when I first saw Max soft (tyres), but that first stint was great from us.”

Norris put pressure on Barstappen towards the end of the race, but had to settle for the third ahead of his teammate Oscar Piastri.

“It was a tough race,” Norris said. “Max didn’t make any mistakes. I gave it all today and got closer.

“I’m happy today. I got two positions. We won as a team.

Piastri, who led Norris in driver rankings, was cut to 22 points, but Verstappen was 63 points behind the Australian, with six races remaining in the season.

“I think the second was the biggest result today,” Verstappen said.

“For a lot of different reasons, I think the whole race was much more difficult and more difficult than I wanted.”

The Constructors’ title celebration at McLaren Garage could be muted, but Piastri was smoked as Norris passed his teammate in the opening corner.

Kimi Antoneri has sixth in Charles Leclerc than Ferrari teammate Lewis Hamilton, and fifth in the fifth place, among other Mercedes.

Fernando Alonso was eighth for Aston Martin, and Haas drivers Oliver Baerman and Carlos Sainz began behind the grid after Williams’ car was disqualified from qualifying, but scored final points in 9th and 10th place.
