In a post, the Now & Then actress described addiction as a “roller coaster” that “never ends,” but shared a positive update after her visit.
In fact, Rosie, who adopted Kelly and Chelsea in 1997, revealed that her daughter has been sober for “almost two years now.” Chelsea revealed she has been sober for “almost two years”.
“That’s a huge part,” she continued on Page Six. “She was born with an addiction, so when we adopted her we thought, ‘Love will cure everything,’ but we don’t know if that’s true.”
And the talk show host, who is also the mother of Parker O’Donnell, 31, Blake O’Donnell, 26, Vivian O’Donnell, 23, with Kelly, and Clay O’Donnell, 13, with his late ex-wife Michelle Lowndes, even asked her eldest daughter for her thoughts on her next solo show, which focuses on their complicated relationship.
“I asked Chelsea for her opinion,” Rosie said. “I sent it to her and said, ‘I’d love to hear your voice, and I think she’s ready to do that now in what I perceive to be your voice.’
