President Donald Trump will claim in a speech Thursday night that a newly declassified intelligence report reveals a foreign plot to interfere in the 2020 presidential election, two White House officials told MS NOW on Monday.
MS NOW reports that Trump will be joined by officials including CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Acting Director of National Intelligence Bill Pulte, FBI Director Kash Patel and Homeland Security Secretary Mark Wayne Mullin, according to one of the officials authorized to remain anonymous to discuss internal planning.
President Trump announced on Truth Social early Monday afternoon that he would address the nation Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET, without providing further details.
Trump lost the 2020 election to President Joe Biden, but falsely claimed his loss was due to widespread voter fraud. He continues to frequently claim that race and other factors have been “rigged.” No credible evidence has been presented that widespread fraud influenced the outcome of the 2020 contest. Trump and his allies filed dozens of lawsuits in multiple states challenging the 2020 results, but they were overwhelmingly dismissed.
Numerous conspiracy theories persist surrounding the 2020 election, including one that alleges foreign interference to harm Mr. Trump’s candidacy.
