OpenAI on Tuesday released its AI-generated video Sora app for Android devices.

The artificial intelligence company first released Sora for Apple devices in September. Tuesday’s announcement will bring the popular AI app to the Google Play app store for users in the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Sora reportedly reached 1 million downloads in less than five days after its debut and held the top spot on Apple’s App Store for nearly three weeks. Sora is currently No. 5 on Apple’s list of top free apps Google Gemini is No. 4 and ChatGP, also created by OpenAI, takes the top spot.

According to a post about X by Bill Peebles, head of Sora at OpenAI, OpenAI is working on making the app available in Europe.

The app allows users to create AI-generated videos through written prompts and post those videos to a shared feed similar to TikTok. According to OpenAI’s post on X, Sora was initially rolled out as an invite-only platform, but is now available to everyone for a limited time.
