Nick Cannon reveals ‘double standard’ dating rules for Mariah Carey’s twins Monroe and Moroccans
Nick Cannon isn’t letting his daughter run wild when it comes to dating.
In fact, the Wild ‘n Out star, who has 15-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan with ex-wife Mariah Carey, admitted he doesn’t give his daughter as much freedom as his son when it comes to dating.
“My son has been dating, and I’ve allowed and encouraged that,” Nick, 45, said of Moroccans on the May 2 episode of the TMZ podcast.
As for whether he would treat his daughter Monroe the same way, the comedian bluntly replied: “No, absolutely not.”
“First of all, it’s a complete double standard,” Nick admitted, “and I know I often get into trouble because I say things off my chest. But there’s a difference when you raise a son and when you raise a daughter.”
Nick, who is also the father of 10 younger children with five women, further emphasized his point, adding: “I try to be more protective of my daughter, because there are things that I have to protect her from. As we know, there are certain types of people that I want to keep my daughter away from.”
