Meta is getting into the game with the release of a new app called Pocket, which allows you to generate small-scale, interactive apps and games using AI prompts. The software is the result of Meta’s acquisition earlier this year of the team behind vibe-coded gaming platform Gizmo, which describes itself as a “creative platform for creating and sharing gizmos,” and its interactive experiences are called that. It also provides a scrollable feed where you can play with gizmos created by others.
Based on screenshots of the app on Google Play, there are many similarities to Gizmo’s original app, which is still listed today. Like Pocket, Gizmo also offers a way to build small, interactive experiences using written AI prompts, including a discovery feed.
Alessandro Paluzzi, a reverse engineer and regular observer of new apps and features, first noticed the app’s release this morning and shared a screenshot of the app’s Play Store on X. However, Pocket was first launched on the App Store and Google Play on June 29, 2026, according to data from app intelligence provider Appfigures. (Since it’s new, the company can’t tell if there are any downloads yet.)
Other news outlets, including Business Insider and Investing.com, have also reported on Paluzzi’s findings. Meta has not yet responded to a request for comment.
Pocket is another example of Meta’s efforts to make AI creation tools more mainstream, expanding on previous efforts such as AI-generated images created through the Meta AI app and AI videos created with an app called Vibes. We’ve also added AI capabilities across our social platforms and to Edits, our video editing app for creators.

Given that Meta hasn’t officially announced Pocket’s debut, it’s likely that Pocket is still in its early experimental stages.
But its counterpart, Gizmo, generated 635,000 lifetime installs on both iOS and Google Play, with 98% positive sentiment, according to Appfigures.
