What else does the survey include?
As the prosecutor’s office said in a Nov. 7 statement, “thorough and sensitive actions and steps were taken to clarify the circumstances” surrounding Payne’s death.
These include “dozens of testimonies” from hotel employees, family, friends, medical professionals, biochemists and psychiatrists, the release continued. The release further added that a “detailed analysis of more than 800 hours of video footage from various security cameras within the hotel and on public roads” was conducted.
But that’s not all. “Forensic extraction of the contents of the deceased musician’s mobile phone was also conducted,” the release states. “This led to the analysis of his calls, messages and chats on messaging applications and social networks.”
Additionally, the statement said, “Several gigabytes of data extracted from other mobile phones were obtained and examined, including hotel reception data and data from witnesses who volunteered to corroborate their statements.”
Other information investigated included “records of guests and orders at the hotel’s bar/restaurant,” which revealed who visited Payne and what they ate and drank, the release added.
In addition, prosecutors announced that “9 searches of homes have been requested” in Buenos Aires.
However, the Nov. 7 release stated that “the investigation must continue as unlocking of the victim’s personal netbook (which was broken) and other devices seized during the investigation is still in progress.”
