Defending champion Norris won his first race of the year, with Verstappen second and leader Antonelli third.

Lando Norris ended his eight-month wait for an F1 victory with good pace and good fortune to win Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix.
McLaren’s defending champion finished ahead of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and teenage sensation Kimi Antonelli at Budapest’s Hungaroring circuit on Sunday.
Norris had taken pole position but lost the lead to McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri when he ran wide at the second corner, but regained the lead after Piastri was delayed by contact with Carlos Sainz Jr. during his lap.
This allowed Norris to exit the pits ahead of his teammates and cruise to victory.
“The car was unbelievable today. Well done, unbelievable. We were flying,” said Norris. “I’m glad I finally got to do it all for you. It feels like it’s been a while.”
Piastri then stopped with a broken gearbox, paving the way for Verstappen to take second and Antonelli into third.
Antonelli extended his lead in the standings, with title rival Lewis Hamilton in fifth after a penalty for speeding in the pits, and George Russell in seventh after nearly stalling at the start.
Norris hasn’t won a full Grand Prix race since Sao Paulo in November, but he did win the Sprint at Miami in May.
Hungary was the last race before the mid-season break. The next race is the Dutch Grand Prix on August 23rd.
