Samantha Bush is keeping her promise to her late husband Kyle Busch.
The 40-year-old shared the last conversation she had with her husband of 15 years before his sudden death on May 21st. She and her husband had two children, Brexton, 11, and 4-year-old.
“I made a promise to Kyle at the hospital that no matter what, I would do everything in my power to help my kids pursue their dreams,” Samantha said in a touching passage she shared on Instagram on June 10, along with a photo of herself and her children at a racetrack in North Carolina. “For Brexton, that dream is racing.”
The late 41-year-old, who was a NASCAR Hall of Famer along with his brother Kurt Busch, let Brexton find his love for the sport on his own.
“It wasn’t a dream that Kyle chose for him; it was one they shared. They spent countless hours talking about race cars, working together, dreaming together, and forging a bond around something they both deeply loved,” he wrote, adding, “Racing is what lights up Brexton, and as long as that is the dream in his heart, I will be right by his side, rooting for him every step of the way.”
