record-breaking bayern
Winning the title once again demonstrated Bayern’s modern and historic dominance in German football.
The Bavarian giants have now won 13 of the last 14 Bundesliga titles. Bayern have won 35 league titles, but no other team has achieved double-digit titles.
Bayern’s wealth and influence exceed all of their domestic rivals, and this season has been truly remarkable.
With four games left, Bayern have now scored 109 goals, the most in Bundesliga history, eight more than the previous record set in the 1971-72 season.
Free scores give Bayern 79 points and a goal difference of 80. If the season ended today, Bayern would become the first team in Bundesliga history to have a higher goal difference than points.
With four wins from the remaining four games, Bayern could take 91 points and equal the highest tally achieved by the treble-winning team in 2012-13.
Next is my personal record.
Kane on Wednesday became the first Englishman to reach half a century of goals in a season in all competitions since the 1930-31 season, but could still reach Robert Lewandowski’s record of 41 goals in a season.
The England captain has scored 32 goals in 27 games this season, so he has a good chance of catching Lewandowski.
Michael Oliseh has 18 assists, three places shy of the all-time record set by Thomas Muller in 2019-20.
