Faye Chrisley (also known as “Nanny”) is Todd’s mother.

For Mother’s Day 2021, he wrote on Instagram, “I am blessed beyond measure that God chose you to be my mother,” adding, “I love you more than you know and you fill my heart with love, hope, faith, and confidence.”

Nannie was born in September 1944 and raised in South Carolina. She married Army veteran Gene Chrisley and had sons Todd, Randy Chrisley, and Derrick Chrisley, the latter of whom died as a baby. Gene also passed away in 2012.

During her time on Chrisley Knows Best, Nanny captured the hearts of fans with her humor, fun times with her sister Frances (who passed away in 2022), dating adventures, and advice. And she proved to viewers that she knows how to have a good time, whether it’s going to the casino, drinking a glass of wine, or spending time with her family.

But Nanny also went through difficult times. In addition to Todd and Julie’s convictions, Nanny was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2021. But two years later, she said she has overcome her health battle.

“I’m in remission, thank God,” Nannie said on a 2023 episode of Lindsay’s podcast, “The Southern Tea.” “I was just moving around, doing everything I could.”

Doing the best you can is Nanny’s approach to life in general.

“The world doesn’t always give you the right deck of cards to play with, so you play the best you can,” she said on Savannah’s Unlocked podcast. “Get up, brush yourself off, and carry on.”
