Chad Michael Murray, One Tree Heel?
Before starring in One Tree Hill, Chad Michael Murray played Jen and Joey’s love interest Charlie on Dawson’s Creek.
But while Charlie was all over the place, Murray didn’t seem to make many friends during his first stint in North Carolina (OTH was later filmed there).
At a Paley panel in 2009, Phillips called him a “terrible guy” and later said, “Don’t worry. I’m not worried about building bridges with CMM at all.”
Van der Beek added: “He has actually come a long way.” After the event, Phillips tweeted, “Just finished the Dawson’s Creek panel. Maybe I was too harsh on chadM2…nope.”
Murray, on the other hand, did not shake things up, stating in 2015 that he learned a lot from the experience.
“When I joined the cast of Dawson, I had the opportunity to learn from people who had been doing this job several years longer than me,” he told Cosmpolitan.com in 2015.. “You know, Michelle and James, Katie and Josh, they really guided me because they had been doing it for five, six years, maybe more. And when they had time, they showed me the ropes. I had no idea what lighting was, I had no idea about a lot of the technical aspects of what we were doing, so I’m grateful for that experience.”
