“These statements were made by a family member who had been estranged from his life since he was 12 years old,” she wrote in part. “Colin is not only someone I love dearly, but he is also an important figure in my family’s life.”
“After John and I broke up and John moved out, Colin lived with me until he was 18 so we saw him every day. He was in good spirits and always kind and respectful,” she added. “He never talked back to me. He was never violent and was never considered dangerous. He was always there when I needed him and even brought me white roses every time I visited.”
As Colin mentioned in his June 17th eulogy, he plans to relive that time in his life, not to mention his upbringing on John & Kate Plus 8, in his upcoming memoir, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood.
“My life was always broadcast to millions of people, but what was really going on in my life was never shown. In fact, much of it was intentionally hidden,” Corrin told Us Weekly in a statement released June 17. “For years, other people have told my story through headlines, TV episodes, and public speculation.”
“This book is about truth, survival, resilience, and finding your voice after years of being silenced,” he continued. “If my story helps even one person feel less alone and gives them the courage to speak up for themselves, then every difficult page is worth writing.”
Eh! News has reached out to John and Kate’s representatives regarding Colin’s statement and memoir, but has not yet received a response.
