Jack White’s wife Olivia Jean files for divorce, citing ‘inappropriate marital conduct’
Breakups aren’t always so black and white.
However, Olivia Jean has given clear reasons for filing for divorce from Jack White after four years of marriage. In her June 3 filing obtained by E! News, the Black Bells member, whose full name is Olivia Jean Markel, cited “irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct” as the reason for her breakup with the White Stripes rocker (aka John Anthony White).
Eh! The News has reached out to his representatives and lawyers for comment, but have not yet received a response.
Despite their high-profile careers, White and Markel have kept much of their relationship private. Well, except that time, he proposed to her on stage at a concert at the Masonic Temple in his hometown of Detroit in 2022, and they married.
Still, there’s a reason why White prefers to ignore the white noise that social media can cause.
There may now be an “expectation to share or overshare,” he said in 2022’s Love & Respect With Killer. Mike explained, “For some people, it’s great. It’s a cool thing and they’re good at it and it’s a fun experience for them. For me, wherever I am, I feel like, I don’t know, it doesn’t really fit me. So sometimes I’m like, ‘Right, let’s share things that are important to me in a certain way.'” ”
