Storage Wars star Darrell Sheets “feeled like his life was in danger” before he died, co-star says
The Storage Wars family celebrates the life of Darrell Sheets.
Days after the A&E star, who ran a business that bought abandoned storage units at auction, died in an apparent suicide, the docuseries paid tribute to him on the April 25 episode of Storage Wars: Back to the Locker.
According to Us Weekly, at the end of the episode, the title read, “In memory of Darrell Sheets,” along with Sheets’ dates of birth and death.
Sheets was found dead in a home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, on April 22, police told E! News said in a statement that while the incident is still under investigation, it appears he died by suicide. He was 67 years old.
After his death, Sheets co-star Laura Dotson spoke out about the extent to which his mental health was affected by cyberbullying.
“His family told us this has been going on for three years,” Dotson said in an interview published April 24. “(Things like this) happen even to strong men who think their feelings can’t be hurt. Cyberbullying is real. It made him feel bad and it obviously bothered him.”
