What was D4vd charged for?
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office confirmed in an April 20 press release that D4vd was charged with one count of murder, one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, and one count of unlawful mutilation of a corpse.
“Celeste was a child under the age of 14 at the time David Burke allegedly engaged in repeated lewd and lascivious sexual relations with her,” said District Attorney Nathan J. Hockman. “But Burke’s actions reportedly didn’t end there. When she threatened to expose his criminal activities and destroy his music career, Burke murdered her, dismembered her body, and stuffed it into two bags placed in the front trunk of his car. The dismembered body remained there for over four months, decomposing, and was discovered in a tow yard on September 8, 2025. This horrifying and gruesome murder was committed by a suspected sex offender.” The Predator is shocking and horrifying. To Celeste’s loved ones, we will give you the justice you seek and deserve. ”
The criminal charges against D4vd “also include allegations of the murder of a witness, murder for financial gain, and special circumstances of ambush.” Additionally, there is a “special charge” that he “personally used a deadly and dangerous weapon, a sharp instrument, to commit a crime.”
D4vd’s lawyer denied that D4vd was the cause of her death, telling E! “We will vigorously defend David’s innocence,” the April 20 statement said.
