Monday’s top gainers included some crypto stocks as the broader market sold off and capital moved away from chip and AI infrastructure names.

bitmine immersion Ether accumulators surged 11% to lead the group after increasing their holdings of the cryptocurrency worth nearly $19.4 million at current prices by nearly 10,000 coins, according to Monday’s update. Fellow ETH Financial Company sharp link gaming It increased by 6%.

Bitcoin Treasury Pioneer strategy It gained 7% after increasing its cash buffer for five consecutive weeks rather than buying Bitcoin.

coinbase global, bitgo and figure technology All rose between 4% and 6%.

stablecoin issuer circle internet group The stock rose 2% after announcing it had acquired IBM’s portfolio, which holds more than 1,000 blockchain-related patents worldwide. Details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The sector-wide move comes amid plunging oil prices, falling U.S. Treasury yields, and a continued risk-off approach to memory chip stocks and other direct AI efforts.

“Today’s weakness partly reflects concerns that companies across the group, from miners to AI, will need to raise additional capital at higher costs to fund their development pipelines,” Michael Donovan, senior research analyst at Compass Point, told CNBC.

Intensifying competition from Chinese semiconductor companies and growing concerns about circular financing have weighed on chip and AI infrastructure stocks. ClearStreet analyst Owen Lau said the resulting risk re-pricing accelerated the rotation of funds into alternative themes, including cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin miners exposed to AI uniformly lost money.

crypto mining It led the group with an 8% decline. hut 8 and terra wolf They fell 6% and 4%, respectively. This vulnerability also extended to pure Bitcoin miners. riot platform lose 5%, Mara Holdings down 3%, clean spark It was 4% lower. core scientificfell 9%, mainly due to a shift away from Bitcoin mining.

A report on NVIDIA’s discussions to provide financial support for OpenAI’s plans to lease a new AI data center in Ohio highlights the growing role of credit in enabling AI investments, Donovan said.

Most publicly traded Bitcoin miners are increasingly viewed by investors as owners of digital infrastructure, rather than simply producers of Bitcoin, given their power capacity, data center assets, and energy contracts.

As a result, pure Bitcoin miners like Mara Holdings and Riot Platforms may also be sold off alongside miners exposed to AI. These stocks often trade together through thematic baskets, sector ETFs, and algorithmic positioning that generate broad movement across the mining sector.

“Some investors are wondering if credit demand for these projects is nearing its limit, and which developers will be able to fund their pipelines without significant dilution, high debt, or additional support from customers or strategic partners,” Donovan added. “This could result in short-term overhang for the group, even though we continue to view the AI base computing infrastructure segment as attractive and structurally supply-constrained.”

Bitcoin It remains largely unchanged, remaining below the $65,000 level. ether It rose more than 1% to about $1,900.

SkyBridge's Anthony Scaramucci says Bitcoin can only go higher from here and it can't get any worse.
