FIFA Club World Cup champions Chelsea have sacked head coach Liam Rosenior after suffering five consecutive defeats.
The 41-year-old was only officially appointed as Enzo Maresca’s successor in January.

Rosenior, who began his managerial career with Derby County and Hull City in England, spent two years with Strasbourg in the French top flight before joining West London Football Club, where he won 51 of 63 games.
However, the Blues have won just 11 of the 23 games he has been in charge, and the recent losing streak marks the first time since 1912 that the club has lost so many games without scoring.
Tuesday’s 3-0 defeat against Brighton saw the team fall to seventh place in the league, and their chances of qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League were seriously jeopardized.
“Liam has always acted with the utmost integrity and professionalism since his appointment mid-season,” Chelsea said in a statement.
“This is not a decision taken by the club lightly, but recent results and performances have been below the required standards and there is still much to play this season.”
Rosenior described his players’ performance in his last match as manager as “indefensible” and “unacceptable”.
