Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos reveal how their children reacted to being ‘cut out’ from holiday traditions

Caldea Brown is a chef, but she has no interest in beef.

The Food Network star addressed the hateful comments he received on social media from disgruntled viewers after taking over as Duff Goldman’s co-host on Kids Baking Championship from Valerie Bertinelli earlier this year.

“The number of adults leaving negative comments on my last post is alarming,” Chaldea, 38, wrote on Facebook on December 5. “I hear you… you’re tired of contest shows and want Valerie back. But what do you think?! I can’t control that, so leaving nasty comments on my page won’t change anything.”

The Emmy winner also slammed critics for failing to set an example of kindness for the show’s target audience.

“I think some of us as adults have forgotten the core principle that we teach our children: ‘Be kind, be kind, and if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything,'” she continued. “We need to get back to the basics of manners. Social media has become a breeding ground for unnecessary meanness and unhappy people, but it doesn’t have to be that way.”
