For Ontario residents, this changed starting in early 2025.Since then, the 54-year-old has started checking to see if products are made in Canada before buying them at the grocery store. McBean canceled multiple trips to the United States for concerts. Cross-border shopping was once common, but not anymore. The reason is that US President Donald Trump has repeatedly…
Norwegian police said the explosion at the US embassy in Oslo early Sunday caused only minor damage, but the investigation was still in its early stages and they had not ruled out a link to terrorism. The explosion came as security at US embassies and consulates around the world has been increased as Israel and the US rapidly escalate their bombing campaign against Iran. Several U.S. diplomatic facilities in Gulf countries that host U.S. troops, including Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, have been targeted by Iran in retaliatory attacks. It is unclear whether the Oslo explosion has any connection to events…
As Americans become increasingly lonely, more people are getting emotional support from artificially intelligent chatbots, worrying some mental health experts.“There’s a lot of talk about AI for therapy[and]emotional support,” says Lianna Fortunato, a licensed clinical psychologist and director of quality and healthcare innovation at the American Psychological Association. “Anecdotally, providers are talking about it. We know from research that people are increasingly using AI tools for that kind of support.”Some chatbot users inadvertently get drawn into mental health-related conversations, for example by complaining about a stressful day to a digital entity that is supposed to listen. Fortunato said some people…
If you, as a parent, don’t make building your child’s self-esteem “one of your top priorities,” you can jeopardize your child’s future success and happiness, says mental performance coach Cindra Kunhoff.”Parents need to be more aware of the crisis of confidence in America today, and they need to get serious about building their children’s confidence,” said Kanhoff, founder of the Mentally Strong Institute, a mental coaching company for business leaders and athletes.Kamphoff said nearly half of Gen Z workers in the U.S. struggle with insufficient self-confidence, including negative self-comparisons with those around them, citing a study of 750 participants in…
Lifestyle Visual | E+ | Getty ImagesWhen it comes to buying a home, affordability continues to improve gradually.According to a new report from Zillow, an American household with the median income (estimated at $86,300) and enough money for a 20% down payment can now buy a home for $331,483, up $30,302 from $301,181 a year ago. Zillow’s “affordable” means your monthly mortgage payment, including insurance and property taxes, is less than 30% of your household income.”An additional $30,000 in purchasing power could allow you to build a home in a different neighborhood, a larger home, or with fewer compromises,” the…
The U.S. military is likely responsible for the attack on an elementary school in southern Iran that killed scores of children, the deadliest incident of civilian casualties in the United States, and Israel’s nearly week-long war with Iran, according to a CNN and expert analysis of evidence. Satellite images, geolocation videos, public statements from U.S. officials, and assessments from military experts suggest that the Feb. 28 attack on Shajare-Taiba Elementary School in Minab probably occurred around the same time as the U.S. military’s attack on the nearby Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) naval base. The White House has not denied…

Havana, Cuba — A Cuban man snuggled up next to me on the street and whispered to me, as if we were sharing a long-held secret. “Come on Americans, let Trump come on. It’s time to end this problem,” he said in a barely audible voice. This is dangerous for Cuba, especially now that the U.S. president is threatening Cuba in ways not seen since the Cold War. I looked around to see if anyone was hearing these inflammatory comments and if the cameraman who was filming with me about the ongoing traffic crisis was nearby and was recording what…
Kuwait said on Saturday it had cut oil production and refining as threats from Iran prevent tankers from transiting the Persian Gulf. The Arab monarchy did not say how many barrels per day it had cut, but said the production cuts were a precautionary measure that would be “reviewed as the situation evolves.”Kuwait is the fifth largest oil producing country within OPEC. In January, it produced about 2.6 million barrels per day. The state-run Kuwait Oil Corporation said it “remains fully prepared to restore production levels when the situation allows.”Oil prices rose about 35% this week as the Iran war…
