Anthropic announced Tuesday that an additional 150 partners in more than 15 countries will now have access to its powerful Mythos artificial intelligence model, which has proven adept at finding software vulnerabilities.
The company said Project Glasswing’s expansion will include industries that were not well-represented in the original launch, such as power, water, healthcare, communications and hardware. New partners must meet security requirements before they can access the model.
“This expansion is the next step in our long-term goal of making all software more secure with AI and helping the industry adapt to its potential to change many of the core assumptions of cybersecurity,” the company said in a blog post.
Anthropic’s Mythos expansion comes a day after AI Labs announced it would begin offering access to the European Union. The company also secretly filed its initial public offering prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, beating out rival OpenAI and achieving a milestone, paving the way for a major AI stock sale.
In April, Anthropic conducted initial Mythos testing with 50 partners amid concerns about the model’s advanced cybersecurity features.
Many experts warned that while these features existed beforehand, hackers could use Mythos to expose software vulnerabilities more quickly.
Amid growing concerns, the White House has held multiple meetings with Big Tech leaders and financial institutions to discuss how to safely deploy advanced AI models in the Age of Mythos.
Since its launch, Anthropic said its Project Glasswing partners have uncovered more than 10,000 high-level or critical-level security flaws. The company estimates that more than 100 million people could be affected in the event of a major cyberattack.
Key partners in the Glasswing project include: apple, Nvidia, microsoft, cloud strike and palo alto networks. Anthropic has not disclosed the new companies that will join the coalition.
