Technology giant IBM is partnering with AI Laboratory Anthropic to deploy AI into its software.

Armonk, New York-based IBM announced Tuesday that it will add Anthropic’s large-scale Claude language model family to some of its software products. The first product that Claude uses is IBM’s integrated development environment, already available to some customers.

IBM also announced that it has partnered with Anthropic to create a guide on how companies can build, deploy and maintain enterprise-grade AI agents.

The terms of the contract have not been disclosed. TechCrunch contacted IBM for further details on the future of the partnership.

Anthropic has made significant advancements in the enterprise space since its release of Claude Enterprise in September 2024.

The company also announced on Monday a deal to welcome Claude to the global workforce of consulting giant Deloitte. Anthropic said this will be the largest company ever to date.

A survey conducted by Menlo Ventures in July found that companies prefer the Claude model over other AI models, including OpenAI. The study found that companies’ use of the OpenAI model has been declining since 2023.
