Aaron wasn’t lying, big or small, when he announced his engagement at NFL Honors in February 2021. E! shared the news a few days later. News exclusively revealed that he is dating Shailene Woodley.
In fact, the actress stated that they have been together for quite some time.
“We got engaged a while ago,” she said on a February 2021 episode of The Tonight Show. “He’s just a great, incredible human being, first of all, but I never thought I’d be engaged to someone who makes a living throwing balls.”
Over the next year, fans got a glimpse of Shailene and Aaron’s romance through photos of them on vacations and dates, as well as insights into their relationship that the two shared on social media. But in 2022, they went their separate ways.
“I felt like I had lost my soul, myself, my happiness, my joy,” she said in Outside 2024, looking back two years ago. “I really understood depression and anxiety and complete soul detachment.”
Without going into details, Shailene told the outlet that she remained in a “toxic situation” because she was emotionally attached to “someone else.”
And the Divergent alum noted that it’s difficult to talk about her breakup with Aaron.
“I didn’t really talk about my relationship with Aaron because I always cried,” she added. “It wasn’t right. But it was beautiful.”
However, Shailene was overjoyed about her new romance with Emily at Lucas Bravo in Paris, confirming their romance in the spring of 2025.
