Roblox On Friday, it unveiled new short videos and AI features amid increasing scrutiny among lawmakers on how the company can protect children on its platform.

The Roblox moment allows users over the age of 13 to create video clips of gameplay on feeds within the platform, create and share with others. Meanwhile, the addition of artificial intelligence allows users to generate advanced 3D objects for games created on the platform.

Users can share video clips of mature games at the moment, but users who do not meet the age requirements of those experiences cannot view them, the company said. Matt Kaufman of Roblox Safety Chief said that Roblox models each video that was instantly shared, allowing users to “inappropriately flag inappropriate content.” Moments will open with a limited release on Friday.

AI features will be deployed to users by the end of the year. According to Anupam Singh, senior vice president of engineering at Roblox, Roblox users can use artificial intelligence tools to create objects that match the aesthetics of the game they build on the platform. These works will also be eased, Kaufman said.

Roblox faces numerous lawsuits claiming that its design allows online predators to misuse minor victims.

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Maril sued Robrox in August, claiming the company failed to implement robust safety protocols to “protect child users from predators.” At the time, Roblox said, “The claim that Roblox intentionally puts users at risk of exploitation is simply not true.”

The company announced Wednesday that it would expand its age estimation program, which Roblox debuted in July.
