Zendaya’s fashion is worthy of a goddess.
In fact, the actress, who plays the Greek goddess Athena in Christopher Nolan’s feature novel, is known for her elegant attire on press tours, but her look in the new fantasy action film is on a whole other level, especially the gold medallion earrings she paired with her white Jacquemus dress at a London photocall on July 5th.
To say that Zendaya created her accessories from the archives with the help of her longtime stylist Law Roach would be the understatement of this century, or rather of the millennium. After all, the ancient 18K yellow gold and diamond earrings, designed by Glenn Spiro and owned by Baron London, date back 3,000 years to the 1st millennium BC, according to the London-based jeweler.
And the gold disc has a special story. As archaeologist Anneliese Baer shared in an Instagram video on July 10, these artifacts originally came from Iran, and while they “likely were not earrings,” the medallions were likely worn as “decorative objects” like other sunburst designs of the time.
