Plaud launches new AI Hardware Note Taker, $179 Note Pro

Hardware Company Plaud.ai released its new physical note taker, the Plaud Ai Pro on Wednesday. Nottaker is priced at $179 and will be two years after the original Plaud Note was released and a year after the company released its AI PIN.

For those who have never seen it, Plaud Note is a credit card sized hardware Note Taker that helps you stick to the back of your phone and take notes on phones and in-person meetings.

The Note Pro is similar to the original note, but with one major difference. The new device has a small 0.95-inch AMOLED screen that displays information such as recording indicators and battery level.

Note Pro offers a standard range of 30 hours of recording capacity. However, press the device to record for 50 hours on a short range of 9.8 feet (nearly 3 meters) on a single charge.

The company said the Note Pro has four MEMS (Microelectromechanical System) MICS, which captures audio better than two of the last generation devices. This allows the Note Pro to capture audio within 16.4 feet (nearly 5 meters) range, bringing twice as much jump in the original Note Pro range. The startup said users will get better noise suppression and speaker detection on new devices too.

I had to manually switch between calls and in-person recordings on the original note, but Note Pro uses the auto-detect feature for this.

Plaud.ai is updating its companion app with new features. You can take notes with text on your phone – like granola – add images like slides.

The app update also offers a “multidimensional summary.” This allows you to extract insights in a variety of formats, including key insights and data items. The company builds templates for summary generation and the app can automatically suggest the correct one based on your role. Plus, you can create your own templates.

You can still use another new feature in the beta to query your notes.

The Plaud Note Pro priced at $179/$169 and users are expected to ship in October 2025, so you can book your device from today. The company said anyone who pre-orders the device will get 600 free transcription minutes along with the magnetic case. Users can get 300 minutes of monthly transcription for free. You also need to buy a paid monthly plan or one-time top-up if you need more.

Plaud is one of the companies that work together to work well when other AI device manufacturers aren’t very popular. Exor-Backed Bee was acquired by Amazon, and friends began shipping several times late.

Plaud said that over a million units of AI Hardware Note Takers have been shipped, with nearly 50% of users upgrading to the Pro plan.
