We’ve been seeing cool tones of pink and romantic looks on the red carpet in recent months. That’s why we can confidently say that this will continue to be a major trend for the spring season, especially for weddings.
“I think we’re seeing a shift towards romantic, fresh makeup again. After years of ultra-contoured, bombshell looks, artists and clients are leaning toward softer-colored looks that are more elevated, yet more effortless.
“Pastel and rosy tones mimic the natural redness of the skin, which translates beautifully on red carpets and in photos,” celebrity makeup artist and founder of Ciel Cosmetics Nikki DeRoest told E!
For a wedding, it’s either a no-makeup “clean girl” look or a full-coverage, dramatic glamor look. There is very little in between. This romantic, flushed look is it. It’s all about using makeup to give your face a natural, subtle energy.
You may have seen appearances by stars like Chase Infinity, Lily-Rose Depp, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Emma Stone, and Elle Fanning.
The question always on our minds is how to recreate it at home. We tapped DeRoest to tell us all the details you need to know. She recently sported a similar look on Kaitlyn Larson at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
