LeBron James had 21 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds, Austin Reeves added 19 points and nine assists, and the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Washington Wizards 120-101 on Monday night.
This was James’ 1,228th career win, including playoffs, tying him with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most wins in NBA history.

While star guard Luka Doncic was suspended for one game after being called for his 16th technical foul of the season in Friday’s game against Brooklyn, the energetic James attacked the rim from the start, including a pair of powerful two-handed dunks by Reaves in the first quarter, leading the Lakers to their 12th victory in the last 13 games.
Luke Kennard and Jackson Hayes each scored 19 points off the bench, Deandre Ayton added 12 points, and the Lakers improved to 7-6 this season without Doncic in the lineup.
Los Angeles would have earned a playoff berth and the Pacific Division title if Phoenix lost, but the Suns’ 131-105 victory over Memphis delayed the official confirmation of their fourth consecutive postseason berth.
Will Riley led the way with 20 points and Justin Champagnie had 18 points for the Wizards, who lost for the 19th time in 20 games.
In fact, Washington led by one point at the end of the first quarter, but Hayes scored the final five points in an early 11-0 run to give Los Angeles a lead they would never relinquish. The Lakers ended the first half on a 38-13 run and returned to the locker room with a 21-point lead.
James helped quiet the Wizards for good after they fell within 10 points late in the third set, earning his third triple-double of the season and 125th regular season total in his 23-year career.
