The Masked Singer reveals TV’s iconic judge, celebrity offspring on Double Elimination
The Pangolin battle for the Masked Singer throne is officially over.
A mysterious celebrity wearing a cute animal costume was eliminated on March 25’s Season 14 semifinal episode of the Fox singing competition series.
The musician behind the mask was none other than “Fight Song” singer Rachel Platten.
Before being sent home, the 44-year-old teased viewers with some clues as to her real identity.
“My best friend in the whole world was Nana,” Pangolin recalled in the video. “She would carry around news clippings of me and force people to read them. She would be like, ‘Have you heard about my granddaughter? She’s nominated for an Emmy!'” She was energetic, funny, and had a lot of heart. ”
And while the singer admits that she misses her grandma every day since she passed away a few years ago, Nana’s fighting spirit lives on in Platten and her own children.
“When I became a mother, I went through a really difficult time,” she admitted. “But when I think about Nana, I can almost hear her saying, ‘You’ve got this, Sugar Plum.’ And that really helped me.”
