14-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashed an astonishing 175 off just 80 balls as India defeated England by 100 runs in the U-19 ODI World Cup final in Harare on Friday.
Sooryavanshi, who has already made history by becoming the youngest player to score a century in the Indian Premier League, hit 15 fours and 15 sixes in the innings, scoring the final 151 runs off just 56 balls.

The left-handed opener eventually caught up with England captain Thomas Lew from Manny Ramsden and left India at 251-3 in 26 overs. They finished with 411 wins and 9 losses after 50 overs.
England began a vigorous attempt to score runs, with opening batsman Ben Dawkins scoring 66 runs and middle-order batsman Caleb Falconer scoring an astonishing 115 runs off 67 balls.
Falconer was the last man out and Kiran Patel took a brilliant catch as England were all out for 311 in 40.2 overs and India won their sixth title.
“I believed in my skills to be able to contribute in big matches and today it happened,” said Sooryavanshi, who was named Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament after scoring 439 runs at 62.71 in seven innings.
Suryavanshi burst onto the international stage in 2024 as a 13-year-old with a 58-ball century in his U-19 debut against Australia.
Suryavanshi, who was selected by the Rajasthan Royals, showed himself on the world stage by fearlessly hitting the first ball six times in his IPL debut.
Nine days later, he clubbed the Gujarat Titans bowlers every part of the way, scoring the second-fastest hundred in the history of the tournament.
The teenager reached his century with 35 balls, including 11 sixes and seven fours, putting him second only to West Indies great Chris Gayle, who scored a ton with 30 balls in 2013.
