Meta The companies announced Friday that they will acquire artificial intelligence wearables startup Limitless.
“We are excited to have Limitless join Meta and accelerate our efforts to develop AI-enabled wearables,” a Meta spokesperson said in a statement.
Limitless makes a small, AI-powered pendant that can record conversations and generate summaries.
Limitless CEO Dan Siroker disclosed the acquisition Friday in a company blog post, but did not disclose financial terms.
“Meta recently announced a new vision to bring personal superintelligence to everyone, and a key part of that vision is to build incredible AI-enabled wearables,” Shirokar said in the post and accompanying video. “We share this vision, and we intend to join Meta to help realize our shared vision.”
The world of AI wearables has been slowly growing this year, but no company has developed a standout product.
An unexpected hit, Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses are sprinkled with AI flavor, incorporating the company’s AI digital assistant.
There are several wearable devices available similar to Limitless.
