Why Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott don’t plan to get married two years after engagement
Zooey Deschanel, the Nutcracker’s son, has a relationship with her ex-husband as her goal.
The New Girl alum shed light on what her relationship is like with fiancé Jonathan Scott and ex-husband Jacob Pechenik, with whom she shares 10-year-old daughter Elsie and 8-year-old son Charlie.
“It’s amazing because the father of my kids is a great father,” Zooey said on the Dec. 16 episode of “Call Her Daddy.” “As a parent, I will continue to support them.”
The 45-year-old said her relationship with Jonathan and Jacob (who they married in 2015 and divorced in 2020) was strong enough to have group chats with, and that maintaining that strong connection was key to their children’s happiness.
“My children will grow up knowing that we all care about each other,” she explained. “We’re sociable and we even vacation together. We’ve been through a lot.”
The “(500) Days of Summer” actress went on to talk about the key factors that helped her and Jacob develop a healthy co-parenting relationship in the years since their breakup.
