President Donald Trump demanded it on Friday Microsoft Fire Lisa Monaco, an executive who served as deputy attorney general during the Biden administration.
The request appeared in Trump’s truth social accounts, with 10 million followers. It comes a day after former FBI director James Comey was indicted, a few days after Trump pushed to indict him.
“She is a threat to US national security, especially given the major contracts Microsoft has with the US government,” Trump wrote in the Post. “Because of many torts in Monaco, the US government recently stripped her of all security clearance, stripped her of all access to national security information, and banned her from all federal property.”
Microsoft did not respond immediately to requests for comment.
Some US government uses Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure and productivity software. Earlier this month, Microsoft agreed that the institutions that use it would offer $3.1 billion in savings over a year on cloud services.
Earlier on Friday, Fox Business Anchor Maria Bartiromo announced an X post about Minaco joining Microsoft. According to Monaco’s LinkedIn profile, the appointment took place in July. The post included a link to a July article about the University of Chicago Law School website.
On Thursday, Microsoft said it would cut off cloud-based storage and artificial intelligence subscriptions to Israeli military forces after investigating allegations that the department had built a system to track Palestinian phones.
Trump is scheduled to meet Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, according to NBC News.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella joined the other White House technology executives for dinner earlier this month.
