At 8:37 a.m. Saturday, Hobart-Lawrence police were dispatched to a disturbance complaint involving Jacobs.
“This remains an active and ongoing investigation. No further information will be released at this time,” Hobart-Lawrence Police Chief Michael Lenkus said in a statement.
Mr. Jacobs denied the charges through his lawyer.
“Josh vehemently denies the charges, this matter is in the early stages of investigation, and important evidence has not yet been made public,” his attorneys David Chesnoff, Richard Schoenfeld and Clarence Dushak said in a statement. “We ask for fairness and restraint as the judicial process progresses.”
The National Football League (NFL) told The Athletic in a statement that it has been in contact with the Packers, who said in a statement that they were aware of the matter but would “decline further comment” given the “ongoing legal situation.”
Jacobs, who will enter his third season with the Packers after signing a four-year, $48 million free agent contract in 2024, is a three-time Pro Bowl selection (2020, 2022, 2024) and was named a first-team All-Pro in 2022 after leading the NFL in rushing yards with the Las Vegas Raiders. In seven NFL seasons, he rushed for 7,803 yards and 74 touchdowns on 1,840 attempts.
