Ella Bright argues that off-campus critics are missing the point.
In fact, the 19-year-old, who plays Hannah Wells in the TV version of Elle Kennedy’s hockey romance series, addressed criticism surrounding the nearly 10-year age difference between her and on-screen boyfriend Belmont Cameli.
“Listen, I went into this job and read Chemistry with more than enough information and knowledge and understanding of what this role and show needed, and I immediately fell in love with Hannah and these scripts,” Ella told Amanda Hirsch on the May 26 episode of the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast. “Well, there was never a question that I didn’t want to do this.”
That being said, Ella can understand where people are coming from regarding her working relationship with the 28-year-old, who plays Garrett Graham on the series.
“I understand people’s concerns, but I’ve never felt excluded by being younger than anyone else,” she explained. “We’re all such a family, everyone is more than perfect, and I couldn’t have been more comfortable on this set with these guys.”
“So it’s funny that they say that. I’m like, ‘I’m fine,'” she added. “I’m perfectly fine.”
