Nexstar Media Group On Wednesday, we continue to assess whether it will bring “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The day after the late night show returned, I returned to the station where I belonged to ABC. Disney– Owned network.
ABC’s Nexstar broadcast television station did not return Kimmel late at night on Tuesday.
“Nexstar continues to rate the status of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ The show will be preempted for local TV stations affiliated with ABC, Nexstar said in a statement,” Nexstar said. “We are engaged in productive discussions with executives at the Walt Disney Company and focuses on ensuring that the program reflects and respects the diverse interests of the communities we serve.”
Nexstar with fellow station owners SinclairDisney aired the show back on Tuesday, saying it would take Kimmel first when many market customers couldn’t see the show at their local stations.
Sinclair representatives introduced CNBC in their statement on Monday. This said the company’s station was ahead of the show and “discussions are underway with ABC in assessing the potential returns of the show.”

The comedian dealt with the situation during his monologue on Tuesday.
“Ironically, except for the irony from Washington, D.C., we are still broadcasting in most of the country,” Kimmel said after the commercial break. “After nearly 23 years of airing, we’re not suddenly airing in 20% of the country, but this is not a situation we enjoy.”
Last week, ABC’s pro-Disney said it would temporarily suspend production of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Following comments from host Kimmel, who allegedly linked the murderer of conservative activist Charlie Kirk to President Donald Trump’s Magazine movement.
Kimmel’s suspension came shortly after the announcement from Nexstar that the program would not be airing. It also suggested by Brendan Carr, similar to the comments made by Federal Communications Commission Brendan Carr, which suggested that ABC’s affiliate stations were at risk of losing their broadcast licenses in Kimmel’s comments.
“It was never my intention to underestimate the murder of a young man,” Kimmel said in an emotional monologue Tuesday. “I don’t think there’s anything interesting.”
