English Premier League club Manchester City has been indicted on 115 counts of breaching financial regulations.

Published June 5, 2026June 5, 2026

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak will “tell everything” about the club’s battle with Premier League leaders once the verdict on financial responsibility is reached.

City were charged with 115 offenses in 2023 for allegedly breaching Premier League financial rules.

The charges spanned nine years from 2009 to 2018.

City were also accused of failing to co-operate with an investigation into the Premier League’s finances.

Despite an independent commission hearing a year and a half ago, the case has yet to reach a conclusion.

City deny any wrongdoing and Khaldoon is looking forward to finally telling the club what happened, pending an acquittal or conviction.

“I want us to be as consistent as we have been. I can’t say much until the verdict is out,” Khaldun told the club’s media channels.

“When the verdict is handed down, believe me, we’re going to have a great time together and say everything we’ve wanted to say for the last three years.”

City have enjoyed sustained success since being bought by Abu Dhabi-based owners in 2008, winning eight Premier League titles, a Champions League title, four FA Cups and seven League Cups.

The club’s valuation has soared in the meantime, with Khaldoon saying he has no intention of selling City Football Group, which owner Sheikh Mansour values at about $10 billion.

“Sheikh Mansour sees this club as a long-term investment,” he said.

“If you tried to sell all of this on the market today, it wouldn’t sell for at least less than $10 billion.

“Of course your Royal Highness has no intention of selling this business. All you have to do is keep growing this, because it’s only going to grow and it’s a beautiful business to own.”

“It’s football, it’s entertainment. In the world we live in today, even though the world is changing and people’s attention is shifting to different things, sport is here to stay and football among sports is at the top.

“And Manchester City and this group are at the top of the football world. This kind of jewel cannot be sold.”
