New details about Davey Chase’s death have been revealed.
The 35-year-old, who provided the voice of Lilo in the 2002 film “Lilo & Stitch,” died of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) on June 16, and substance abuse was considered a “significant condition” that contributed to her death, according to Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office records viewed by E! news.
Records show Chase, whose real name was Davey Schwarrier, died at a hospital. Authorities said her manner of death was natural.
Ringster’s boyfriend Roy Hernandez previously revealed to TMZ that Chase had been battling meningitis and a blood infection before his death, and that he developed sepsis that eventually caused his organs to shut down.
He also said Chase had been hospitalized in early June due to malnutrition.
“Behind the scenes, she has faced more than her share of hardship,” Hernandez wrote on GoFundMe. “After a difficult childhood and a painful rift with his family, Davey was bullied and struggled to find safety and happiness in downtown LA.”
“When we met, I promised to protect her and give her the love and comfort she deserves,” he continued. “Together, we found moments of happiness and hope.”
