It’s hard to believe that two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry didn’t hit it off with his now-wife, Ayesha Curry, on his first move. But when the then-Davidson College standout tried to kiss her while hanging out with a former youth group mate, she bent over.
Thankfully, “I got a do-over!” she told E! Jason Kennedy, News, October 2017. And several years after their first kiss in their parents’ driveway in their hometown of Charlotte, he proposed in that very spot. “Yes,” he told his parents. “It was like ‘The Notebook.'”
When Ayesha found out she was pregnant with her first child, future press star Riley, a few months after their vows in 2011, she feared she wouldn’t be able to fully find her professional footing.
But more than a decade later, three more children (daughter Ryan joined the team in 2015, followed by brothers Kanon and Caius in 2018 and 2024), and an entire lifestyle empire later, she’s doing just fine, and her titles include cookbook author, Food Network personality, model, philanthropist, and more.
Just don’t force the term “basketball wife” on her. As she shrewdly pointed out to ABC News, “I mean, I don’t think my husband would call himself a ‘chef’s wife.'”
